Job Description

CHECKSET is seeking a highly experienced AEC professional specializing in interdisciplinary coordination & construction document reviews. This role is designed for individuals with deep technical expertise who enjoy solving complex design and coordination challenges before construction begins.This position focuses exclusively on coordination gaps, identifying errors, omissions and conflicts within the construction documents before they impact project cost, schedule, and field performance. Candidates must have advanced experience reviewing and coordinating multi-disciplinary CD sets.

Responsibilities

  • Review: Conduct in-depth technical construction document reviews of architectural and consultant drawings including but not limited to Structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), Landscape, and Civil drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all disciplines.
  • Analyze: Construction document sets including plans, sections, details, schedules, and specifications for completeness and technical accuracy.
  • Conflict and Risk Identification: Identify coordination design conflicts, scope gaps, ambiguous details, and documentation inconsistencies between building systems such as structure, ductwork, plumbing, electrical, ceilings, and equipment clearances.
  • Code Compliance: Verify that plans comply with all applicable local, state, and federal building codes, ordinances, and industry standards
  • Collaboration: Prepare clear, technically detailed review comments for internal project teams
  • Contribution: Ensure adherence to both industry & CHECKSET standards while contributing to the development of best practices database

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working with construction documents in architecture, engineering, or construction.
  • Prior roles may include MEP Coordinator, Construction Manager, General Contractor, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), Architecture or Engineering QA reviewer, Plan Reviewer or BIM Manager with significant construction documents review responsibilities.
  • Advanced ability to interpret full construction document sets across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong working knowledge of Architectural, Structural, MEP/FP, Landscape, and Civil.
  • Experience reviewing large scale commercial, multi-family, institutional, or large mixed-use projects.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency using Bluebeam Revu for construction document review and digital markups
  • Experience reviewing BIM/Revit-based construction documents
  • Experience performing overlay coordination reviews and clash identification
  • Ability to anticipate construction issues prior to field execution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and technical curiosity
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting production deadlines
  • Demonstrates curiosity, critical thinking, and ownership of technical review quality
  • Open to structured training and CHECKSET proprietary review methodologies
  • Maintains transparent and proactive communication with team leadership
  • Experience working with architecture or engineering consulting teams preferred
  • Permit or quality review experience preferred

Compensation

$100,000 per annum + performance bonus
